Bracing The Wall: Does My Foundation Need It?

Wall braces are what they sound like. They are steel structures places to assist the structure cope with weight. They are also one of the most effective ways to restore and repair basements, and to protect structures against further foundation damage. Our Powerbrace System is put in to place to hold up walls against weight and forces coming across.

Adding additional support for your structure should be welcome. Our foundations are on constant defense against changing temperatures, wind, water, and humidity and even earthquakes. Water leaks and excessive moisture can cause a lot of damage to your home. This can also cause mold or mildew to grow. When temperatures are very cold, the water or moisture that is trapped in the cracks will freeze and cause even more damage.

Frozen water will expand, which will cause the size of the cracks to stretch and break. Installing Powerbraces to hold the foundation in places will help wen repairing and waterproofing the basement. If you have a buckling or bowing wall, this could have occurred due to moisture and water intrusion weakening the foundation. The steel reinforcement braces will add support for older foundations that may be bowing or buckling inward due to the weight of the structure, weight of the soil, and the water on the outside. Installing Powerbraces will stop further damage to the foundation.

Without braces, foundations can become damaged and develop cracks. Pieces can break off and walls can eventually collapse. Powerbraces are put in to place to stop that from happening. If a brace is in place, and a crack appears, the repairs are MUCH easier to get to and take care of. The worry of a wall coming down and causing extensive damage is lessened quite a bit when we have extra security added. Whether you experience severe weather, live in an older home, or experience earthquakes, the Powerbrace System is there to protect.
