A homeowner in Pittston recently contacted Liberty Basement Systems when they noticed their floors were sagging, sloping, and feeling uneven underfoot. As is the norm, our Customer Care Specialist was the first point of contact, deftly arranging a home inspection. Our seasoned System Design Specialist visited their property to conduct a thorough inspection, precisely diagnosing the instability affecting the floors above the crawl space. Upon careful evaluation, the solution presented revolved around installing our state-of-the-art SmartJack® system. Designed to stabilize crawl space beams and floor joists, SmartJack® is adept at lifting floors close to their original alignment and mitigating bothersome floor vibrations caused by compromised floor joists. Our adept production team, consisting of a skilled foreman and dedicated installers, arrived at the scheduled time to proficiently execute the solution. The team first prepared the work environment by reinforcing weak foundation soils with engineered fill, thus ensuring a solid base. Subsequently, we installed galvanized steel columns, meticulously cut to requisite lengths and placed securely on 12-inch steel bases. These columns were then anchored to existing girders using adjustable brackets. The adjustable threaded rods on the SmartJack® allowed us to finely tune the elevation, continuing until the floors began approximating their intended level. Upon completion, the homeowners immediately noticed the vast improvement. What was once sagging and inconsistent in feel stood solid and reliable, a testament to the effectiveness of the SmartJack® system and our commitment to resolving their troubles.
