Our crawl space looks very similar to your before and after pictures of a crawl space in Hawley. I don't believe we get water through the walls, but water does come up through the gravel floor (high water table). I would like to encapsulate the space, close off the vents and put in a dehumidifier - we have a sump pump in place already.

Moisture in the crawl space was a problem for this homeowner. They reached out to us to see if we could encapsulate the space. One of our inspectors went out to the home to take a look in the crawl space and see what was going on. He found that there was indeed a moisture issue, but also noticed a lack of insulation. A poorly insulated crawl space can lead to cold floors and high energy bills. We were happy to tell the homeowner that we could help them solve all of these problems.

We insulated the rim joists and installed SilverGlo Insulation Panels on the walls of the crawl space. We laid Drainage Matting down on the floor in order to help guide surface water out of the space. Over the Drainage Matting, we installed TerraBlock to insulate the floors. The space was encapsulated with a CleanSpace Encapsulation System! CleanSpace keeps out moisture and lowers humidity! This tear-resistant, 20mil thick vapor barrier is ultra durable and made to last.
