The owner of a vacation home in Lake Ariel, PA contacted our office to schedule a free estimate to replace the sump pump in their basement. Since the house is a vacation home, it is important to have a reliable sump pump so that their basement is not flooded while they are away. Replacing the sump pump will ensure that the basement is safe and dry during the owner's absence.
Before basement waterproofing expert Aaron Lenker assessed the customer's sump pump problems, they provided Aaron with details about their current problems. They had a system installed in 2001, but the battery started to malfunction in 2008. The customer decided to replace the marine battery with the exact same one, but it is still having problems. As a result, the sump pump system was malfunctioning.
To test the system, Aaron poured water into the sump system to see if all components were functioning as they should. If not, he would then be able to identify the source of the problem. A performance test on the customer's sump pump system revealed that the pump was overheating and not pumping out water. Aaron discussed his findings with the customer and recommended replacing the system's current pump, which wasn't pumping water out of the home. In addition to the pump replacement, it was also recommended that a battery back-up system be installed.
In response to Aaron's professional recommendations, the customer decided to follow them and had our crew perform the necessary changes for their sump pump system to function effectively. The old pump was removed from the system and replaced with our top-rated Zoeller cast iron pump. The Zoeller pump is proven to be extremely durable, reliable, and offers high-volume pumping. All Basement Systems sump pumps are equipped with powerful, top-quality Zoeller sump pumps! After the pump replacement, our crew equipped the system with the UltraSump Battery Backup System. Since this was not the primary residence of this customer, this system will provide protection and peace of mind that their basement will remain dry in the event of a power outage. A DC battery-powered sump pump is installed in addition to your primary pump and automatically turns on if your primary pump is not capable of operating due to a power outage, mechanical failure, or an overwhelmed pump.
