A Gettysburg, PA homeowner discovered a musty odor coming from their crawl space and decided to investigate it. It was discovered that the crawl space was very damp, humid, and there were signs of mold growth. They contacted our office for advice and a free consultation, not knowing what to do. A free in-person assessment by one of our highly-trained crawl space repair experts provided much insight into this homeowner's problem.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the crawl space wasn't properly ventilated. As a result, outside elements such as humidity and moisture were able to seep in. The crawl space rock walls were soaked in moisture, and the space had a strong musty smell. A permanent solution was recommended by our expert inspector for solving these problems. Concerned about their health and the potential damage to their home, the homeowner was relieved to find out that we have the expertise and experience to provide a permanent solution to the issue.
Our CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System was the most effective solution to these problems. We recommended the installation of CleanSpace vapor barrier throughout the crawl space walls as well as sealing the open crawl space vents with CleanSpace Vent Covers. This will prevent water from leaking through the walls and drain down the backside into a perimeter drainage system. It was also recommended that our TripleSafe Sump Pump System be installed in order to remove the water from the house.
