A Dalton, PA customer contacted our office when looking for a permanent solution for their crawl space repairs. A free assessment was scheduled with inspector Robert W. shortly after. The homeowner was most concerned about their damp crawl space. A strong musty odor was leaking into the upper level of the house. In addition to the odor, small critter droppings were found. As a result, the customer decided to investigate the issue. This led them to discover that the odor was coming from the crawl space. The rim joists had noticeable cracks, and the space was very humid and damp. Mold grew on the crawl space walls as a result of the high levels of moisture. As a result, the homeowner knew they needed the help of experts in crawl space repairs.
To solve this problem, Liberty Basement Systems used MoldX to treat the space for mold growth and sealed the rim joists and any visible cracks with RimTight Foam Insulation. SilverGlo wall insulation was fastened to walls and a trench was hammered to install WaterGuard Interior Drainage System to collect any leaks, preventing the area from getting wet. Drainage Matting was installed on the floor to create optimal drainage as well as a thermal break between the ground and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is was placed and secured over top. A SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep humidity levels low and the air dry.
