We learned from the homeowner that the basement was getting wet from water leaking under their basement entry door and seeping through the wall/floor joint every time it rained. Water problems in your basement can lead to mold and mildew growth, rotted wood, or damage to stored items. The plan included installing a sump pump, a dehumidifier, and a water drainage system. These measures would ensure that any water that made its way into the basement would be quickly removed and that humidity levels would remain low. Installing an interior perimeter drainage system around the walls of the basement will allow water to be captured at the most common point of entry - the floor/wall joint. Water can also be captured from the walls and prevented from leaking into the basement floor by intercepting it at its perimeter before it gets there. A TrenchDrain surface drainage system was installed at the basement door entry. With the TrenchDrain connected to the perimeter drainage system, captured water is directed to the sump pump. To ensure the basement stays dry, even in the most extreme conditions, it was decided that installing the TripleSafe Sump Pump system was the most effective choice for this waterproofing project.
