Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Humidity & Moisture Control in Abbottstown, PA
A homeowner in Abbottstown, PA discovered damp, musty odors coming from their crawl space. After receiving a mailer from Liberty Basement Systems, the customers scheduled a free crawl space repair estimate with Todd D., one of our Design Specialists. The homeowner was concerned that the odors could be a sign of a mold or moisture problem in their crawl space. They wanted to make sure their home was safe and healthy. Todd D. inspected the home and found a high level of moisture in the crawl space due to the lack of a vapor barrier and drainage system. As a result, he recommended encapsulating the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier. This would prevent mold and mildew from forming by preventing moisture from leaking through the crawl space walls and floor. A high-performance spray foam was also recommended for sealing around the rim joists and openings where outside elements could seep in, as well as drainage matting for adequate water drainage and a SuperSump pump to protect the crawl space against flooding and water intrusion. The foam is dense and provides a complete seal, preventing air and moisture from entering the crawl space, while the drainage matting captures any water that does get in and directs it to the SuperSump pump. The SuperSump then pumps the water out of the crawl space, preventing mold and mildew growth and ensuring a healthier home environment. As a result, this system offers superior protection against water damage and other moisture-related issues.
Exposed Dirt Crawl Space
The crawl space should never be wet. If you notice water in the crawl space when there's heavy rain, it's necessary to find a solution to keep the crawl space dry to prevent water damage.
Damp Crawl Space
Moisture is the most common problem in a vented, unsealed crawl space. Humidity and excess moisture leads to mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations.
Drainage Matting
This dimpled drainage matting is placed between the vapor barrier and the ground, improving drainage and enhances the durability of the CleanSpace vapor barrier.
Sump Pump Installation
A quality sump pump like our SuperSump pump system, removes standing water from a crawl space and protects the space against flooding and other water intrusions.
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
If you have a dirt crawl space under your home and you're experiencing a musty smell, feeling of dampness, or cold floors inside your home, you could benefit from adding a vapor barrier in your crawl space.
CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System
The CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System addresses each of the main threats to your crawl space: outside air, excess moisture, water, mold, and pests.
