Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Wall Leak Solution in Beavertown, PA
The wall floor joint of a Beavertown, PA home was leaking water into the basement. The homeowner contacted Liberty Basement Systems after hearing about our basement waterproofing services from a friend. We scheduled a free inspection with inspector Joe D. in order to assess and diagnose the issue.
Joe discovered where water had been seeping into the basement during the inspection. There were chips and bubbles in the paint on the concrete block walls. As the customer already had a sump pump and dehumidifier in place, Joe recommended that an interior perimeter drainage system be installed. If water somehow finds its way into your basement, an interior perimeter drainage system addresses hydrostatic pressure. This is the pressure of groundwater forcing its way through the basement walls or foundation. The system will collect water from the basement walls and drain it to the pump system for removal from the house. In discussing the installation process, the customer was eager to have a system installed that would keep his basement dry.
To install the WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System, our basement waterproofing foreman, Codey B. and his production crew created a trench around the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. The WaterGuard system is designed to capture water seepage through walls and leaks along the wall/floor joint. It is almost invisible when installed, and is faster, easier and less expensive to install than exterior drainage systems. It is constructed of durable plastic that will not corrode or decay, and is virtually invisible once installed. The discreet design of WaterGuard is preferred by homeowners. A concrete layer conceals the drainage channel. There is only a small amount of visible wall flange at the top, so you will hardly notice it. In addition, WaterGuard is backed by a 20-year clog-free warranty.
In order to hold the system in place and maintain its level, stone is placed around it after it has been installed. To complete the installation, a concrete layer is poured over the top. As part of his drainage system, the customer opted to have a WaterGuard Port installed. Through the WaterGuard Port, our service technicians can access the system annually to ensure it is operating properly at all times. The customer was very happy with the outcome of the basement waterproofing services Liberty Basement Systems team provided.
