Photo Album: Crawl Space Structural Repair Using SmartJacks in Danville, PA
When a Danville, PA homeowner was dissatisfied with another foundation repair company's quote, they contacted our office. Above their crawl space, the floor sagged and sometimes squeaked when walked on. To fix their problem permanently, we scheduled Todd D., our foundation repair expert, to assess the issue and provide a solution.
Todd inspected the crawl space that was located in the basement of the home. This is where he discovered that the area that needed stabilizing was obstructed by a large dirt mound. Assuring the homeowner that Liberty Basement Systems could solve his problem, he provided his professional recommendation. Following Todd's explanation of his findings, the products to be used, and payment, the homeowner was eager to have our crew start the project.
Todd decided to install the SmartJack Crawl Space Support System with a steel supplemental beam to fix the sagging and squeaky floor problem. In crawl spaces, SmartJacks fix sagging floors by stabilizing and leveling beams and floor joists. Because the sagging floors were directly above the crawl space, our crew had to remove the dirt mount by hand first. We removed 40 or more 35 gallon buckets of dirt to install the supplemental beam and SmartJacks!
After the dirt in the crawl space was removed and the supplemental beam and SmartJacks were installed, drainage matting and a CleanSpace vapor barrier were installed on the floor. By installing these additional products, they will prevent groundwater seepage from evaporating into the air, mold growth, and other crawl space problems. Following the completion of the project, the crew cleaned the area and conducted a final walk-through with the customer. This homeowner was very happy with the results of Liberty Basement Systems expert work, professionalism, and high quality crawl space repair products!
