Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing Using an Interior Perimeter Drainage System in Ashland, PA
Following a free basement waterproofing consultation and estimate from Liberty Basement Systems, a homeowner in Ashland, PA found a permanent solution for her wet basement problem. Whenever it rained, water entered the basement through the basement entryway and foundation walls. This resulted in mold growth, water damage, and musty odors.
Using his extensive knowledge of basement waterproofing, Logan M. conducted an in-depth inspection of both the interior and exterior of the home. After assessing their wet basement issues, he recommended a permanent solution, followed by a detailed description of the installation process. Logan's professional recommendation for permanently preventing water from entering the basement is to install an interior perimeter drainage system with a sump pump and exterior discharge line. It also included an entryway trench drain, a basement wall vapor barrier system, and a basement dehumidifier. Logan's answers to the homeowners' questions and concerns gave them confidence that Liberty Basement Systems was the right fit for the project.
Due to the water damage, the production crew had to remove and dispose of moldy materials, basement walls, and other debris. Once removed, the basement walls and floors were treated for mold. The crew hammered a trench around the perimeter of the basement to install the WaterGuard Drainage System and a sump hole for the TripleSafe & SuperSump Pump Systems. CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier was fastened to the basement walls to allow water seepage to drain down the backside and into the drainage system. This water will be carried away from the home through the Exterior Discharge Lines.
To finish the project, the crew installed the SaniDry Sedona Basement Dehumidification System to keep humidity levels low and the air dry. With these waterproofing systems installed, the homeowner will never have to worry about leaky basement problems again.
Wet Basement
Water entering the basement was causing water damage and mold growth.
Mold and Mildew
Water intrusion caused mold to grow on the walls in the basement.
Old Sump System
The crew carefully removes existing material and replaces it with a TripleSafe Sump Pump.
Sump Pump Installation
The sump hole is made to install the pump system.
Drainage System Trench
The trench to install WaterGuard is jackhammered out around the perimeter of the basement floor.
Wall Vapor Barrier
CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System stops water from permeating through. the foundation walls and into the basement Instead, water will drain down the back side, into the drainage system, and redirected to the sump pump.
Sump Pump 2 Installation
SuperSump Pump is installed in a different area of the basement that allows for smaller amounts of water to be drained to. This will ensure the whole basement is dry all the time.
WaterGuard Port
The port on the drainage system allows easy access for cleaning or if ever necessary, unclog.

Discharge Line Trench
A trench is made to bury the discharge line. The line is buried at a safe distance to carry water away from the home.
IceGuard
When the main line is working correctly, water simply flows out as usual. However, when the discharge line is frozen, the IceGuard allows water to escape through slotted openings in the drain pipe.
