Photo Album: Total Crawl Space Transformation in Aspers, PA
When Aspers, PA homeowners moved into their new home they noticed the crawl space needed some serious help. After coming across Liberty Basement Systems well-informed website, they decided to give our office a call. A free crawl space repair inspection and quote were scheduled for crawl space expert, Robert W. to assess and solve the homeowner's crawl space problems.
After a thorough inspection and discussion of the problematic crawl space, Robert recommended a crawl space encapsulation system, and explained each step of the installation process. Soon after, it was decided that Liberty Basement Systems were the crawl space repair experts to get the job done.
First, foreman, Jake R., and his production crew removed and safely disposed of damp, musty, and moldy crawl space insulation, and other debris. After removal, SilverGlo crawl space insulation is installed along the walls and crawl space rim joists were sealed from air leaks. A damp crawl space environment can attract pests, such as termites, carpenter ants, other insects, and rodents. Insulating a crawl space, when done properly, is a great way to save energy. We recommend both sealing and insulating your crawl space to maximize the money you save. By sealing your crawl space before insulating, you will prevent air leaks and protect the crawl space from moisture issues.
Next, the team chose the best location to install the SmartSump Pump System and Exterior Discharge Line to collect, pump, and carry any water away from the home. A drainage matting was installed on the crawl space floor to provide an efficient drainage space and thermal break. To help control crawl space moisture and protect against mold, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is carefully fitted and installed on the crawl space floor and walls. Drilled-in fasteners and spikes are installed to permanently hold the liner in place. Edges, seams, and pipe penetrations are sealed with a vapor barrier tape.
Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona crawl space dehumidifier was installed to help prevent crawl space moisture as well as maintain an ideal level of humidity in the living space. By sealing the crawl space off from the outside, we created a space that's dry, clean, and healthy for the family to enjoy. With the CleanSpace encapsulation system, the homeowners will not only gain extra storage space, but their entire home will be more comfortable!

Exterior Discharge Line
The discharge line is connected to the sump pump on the inside of the crawl space. Water that is collected into the pump will drain out the discharge line and away from the home. A LawnScape Outlet lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe with a lid that comes off for easy cleaning.
